You’ve all heard by now that Scrapbookgraphics has closed. And after a hair raising month of moving product over, we are now back at Oscraps, not as guests but we’re making it our new home! A BIG THANK YOU to Vicki for taking us in!!! We surely don’t like being homeless. So now we have a 25% off sale for a week…be sure to get in on it!
And of course, many of our co-designers from SBG came with us to Oscraps and it’s nice to see familiar faces.
I’ve had a busy few weeks, with Thanksgiving twice, a short trip to Washington DC where I got to visit various museums of the Smithsonian. My feet hurt!
I tried Navajo tacos over at the American Indian Museum cafe. The Navajo flatbread is the bomb and I’m gonna have to find a recipe for that!!! I have to say, the transport system (the metro) in DC is amazing. I paid $10 and it got me around for what I needed. I was lucky, my husband was on a business trip so had the hotel already. Unfortunately, he couldn’t join me on my ramblings but well, I enjoyed it. It was the first time he was able to take me with him on a business trip, now that our girls are so much older and I didn’t have other obligations.
On another news front, some parts of St. Thomas, USVI has electricity now…mainly the downtown area which is crucial to the tourists who come. Huge thanks to the 500 linemen who came from stateside to help!!! And slowly, areas are getting electricity. They anticipate another month or so before the grid is completely back on. Imagine three months of no electricity!!! When my daughter flew in, she kept flipping the lights on and being surprised. I also know, I will have a huge hot water bill!!! She thoroughly enjoyed her first real hot shower in two months (they used cistern water and showered out of buckets). We are also happy to know the cruise ships started arriving again. It’s a slow trickle but I know the island is happy to get the tourists again as it’s their main source of income.
I do believe my December is looking GREAT!
